Offshore engineering heritage, built modularly

The K-Wind programme brings together offshore engineering heritage and modular manufacturing to deliver the foundations that next generation wind turbines depend on. Together, Aurion+ and KOMS support faster, more resilient offshore wind across UK and European waters.

Fixed foundations

Fixed base foundations engineered for the demanding conditions of the North Sea and beyond.

How a floating offshore wind platform is mooredA cross section split by a waterline. Above the water, a wind turbine stands on a semi-submersible platform carried by three buoyancy columns. Below the water, mooring lines run diagonally outward and downward from both sides of the platform. On the left line a mid-water buoy holds the line clear of the seabed, and a mooring chain continues from the buoy down to an anchor point on the seabed. The right line runs to a second anchor point. A seabed line closes the bottom of the frame.Wind turbineSemi-submersible platformBuoyancy columnsWaterlineMooring linesMid-water buoyMooring chainAnchor pointSeabed
